Wushu, or Chinese martial arts, is a perfect blend between sports and the aesthetic arts. Members train to sharpen their skills and routines while training their physique at the same time. Participation in various performances further enrich their wushu experience. Trainings build on athletes' flexibility, strength and stamina to execute a series of kicks, punches, jumps and many more. Wushu can be graceful yet menacing at the same time.
Members can look forward to take part in the annual Inter-school Wushu Championships, where they can display their skills in individual or group events. Competition events include both individual routines and group routines. Individual routines involve various weapons such as broadsword, sword, cudgel, spear or barehanded. Group routines involve 6 athletes, all performing the same routine together, achieving for synchronization. Over the years, we have maintain to be among the top 4 schools in national competitions, and in 2016, our team have achieved overall champion for the A-division girls, and 3rd Runners-up for the A-division boys.
We put up stunning performances during the Chinese New Year and Mid Autumn Festival celebrations, aweing students with our showcase. Members will have the chance to choreograph their own performance routine, allowing them to explore and think out of the box, and at the same time appreciate the beauty of Wushu.
Our team trains under a warm-hearted and experienced coach who has looked after the team for over 15 years. We welcome the new batch with open arms. Come and join the Wushu family, a great year awaits!
