The Students’ National Education Council (SNEC) is a student-led council in Hwa Chong Institution. SNEC is in charge of planning and executing 4 key events annually: Racial Harmony Day, National Day Celebrations, Total Defence Day and International Friendship Day. SNEC also plans and facilitates Ministerial Dialogues for JC 2 students, Senior Civil Servant Dialogues for JC 1 students, as well as Alumni Dialogue Sessions, where former Hwa Chong students in various fields are invited to share about their experiences.

SNEC members are also in charge of designing weekly news infographics displayed around the school. As part of our continued and enhanced outreach to the student population, SNEC will be introducing a wider range of outreach initiatives and new school policies to promote National Education and pertinent current affairs with regards to Singapore in 2017.

As a member of SNEC, you will be exposed to many opportunities to develop and enrich yourself in and beyond the leadership aspect. Such opportunities include participation in events such as the Harmony works! Conference, SMU Law Forum, Post-National Day Rally Dialogues and many more. Through these platforms, SNEC members are given the chance to interact with cabinet ministers, members of parliament, grassroots leaders and policy makers. These opportunities broaden perspectives and develop 21st century competencies.
