Fencing, a sport developed near the end of the 19th century, is often thought of as a dramatic sport, similar to that of medieval fighting scenes where individuals fight it out to defend their honour, swordsmanship, or even their one true love. Modern fencing, however, requires much more than just sword skills.

Passion, tenacity, zeal, adaptability - maintaining a cool demeanour yet remaining full of spirit, are traits a fencer must have. The Hwa Chong Fencing Team seeks to nurture these traits within its members while ensuring that fun is maximised.

Founded in 2007, the Hwa Chong Fencing Team has seen hundreds of fencers develop a passion for fencing. Open to students with no prior experience, our dedicated team of coaches have successfully boosted many fencers to not only earn medals in the annual Interschool’s Competition but also enter the Singapore National Team! Currently, the team holds the championship title for A division Boys and the 2nd runner-up title for A division Girls in the National Interschool Fencing Competition.

If you have the will to conquer this art, and crave for some thrill to spice up your life, this elegant sport may be the one for you. Here at HCFC, we welcome those who are passionate! For those who wish to get a head-start in fencing, contact Jingsiang (98285300) or Samantha (96284966) for more information! :)
