HCanoe is a dedicated and passionate team.

In HCanoe, we don’t only aim for excellence in our sport but also growth as a person. We take part in a myriad of activities together besides Interschools, from our SL project – 24hr Static Kayaking Challenge, camps, Past Versus Present, Army Half Marathon, and even a team OCIP trip, creating an eventful and meaningful journey for us. 3 years back, with the efforts and dedication of both the Alumni and the competing team, HCanoe emerged as the A division Boys’ and Girls’ champions of 2013.

To involve the Hcanoe alumni, we have also been organising a competition, Past Vs Present, since 2011, fostering a greater community spirit with our alumni, and keeping them in the loop. Being able-bodied, we are fortunate to have physical mobility. Despite undergoing high levels of physical stresses and demands in the course of our canoeing training, it is less significant compared to the physical inconvenience and emotional agony that sufferers of muscular dystrophy and their families face. Hence, we decided to contribute to the work MDAS was doing through making use of what we have learnt and trained for in our CCA, kayaking. Thus we introduced the 24 hour static kayaking challenge, which aims to raise funds and increase awareness of muscular dystrophy. Through the years we have raised over $100000 and clocked over 4000km, in the process breaking 2 records in the Singapore book of records, organizing fun-filled team challenges and a workshop for members of the canoeing community.
